The Short Course @ Coonskin is a 9-Hole Executive Course that has iconic green complexes from the 1920’s to 1930’s, which is considered the golden age of golf course architecture.  The course was designed by our very own West Virginian Kelly Shumate who is the current golf course superintendent at The Greenbrier Resort.  Each hole was designed to replicate these iconic green complexes.  The course features a dual green that was popular during early era of golf to save space on the course. Double greens can be found on classic golf courses around the world. Our dual green is hole #3 & #5.  Our longest hole of 123 yards on the course is #7, which is a Redan green that flows from back left to front right.  The shortest hole of only 60 yards is #2 the Turtle.  A famous example is Donald Ross #2 course at Pinehurst.   Any true golf aficionado will enjoy their experience here at The Short Course @ Coonskin.
